The Catholic Teachers Guild is a lay organization that exists for the purpose of strengthening the faith life of its members. We seek to support the vocation of the Catholic teacher through special events, lectures, study groups, a website, and ultimately, by the establish mean of an institute for such activity.

The 2024 recipient of the St. Jean Baptiste de La Salle Award is Jean-Pierre Dabbagh. His dedication to nurturing the spiritual and intellectual growth of his students is evident in his myriad initiatives, going above and beyond to cultivate a vibrant faith community within his school, leading a Rosary club, organizing street patrols with students, and facilitating daily faith-based discussions. He ensures that each student has the opportunity for a Catholic retreat every year of high school, fostering deeper spiritual connections and personal growth. His commitment to fostering vocations is exemplified through his hosting of seminarians for field placements and his collaboration with the Director of Vocations to celebrate Mass and engage with the student body. What draws Jean-Pierre Dabbagh closer to the faith is the calling to serve at home, school, and parish. His advocacy for life and participation in events like the Life Chain and his tenure as a former board member of Toronto Right to Life demonstrate his unwavering commitment to upholding Catholic values in all aspects of his life.
